Cong. Mangaoang receives 'Lianhua Qingwen', a Chinese traditional medicine for COVID-19

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Office of Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang received on Thursday, three big boxes of Lianhua Qingwen, a traditional Chinese medicine believed to be effective in treating COVID-19 and respiratory diseases induced by various influenza viruses.

Reginald Wacas, in an interview, said Mangaoang requested for the medicines to help the province in its battle against the dreaded virus.

Use of Lianhua Qingwen

Lianhua Qingwen, according to the Department of Health, is Food and Drugs Administration-approved medicine which helps in curing “heat-toxin invasion of the lungs, including symptoms such as fever, aversion to cold, muscle soreness, stuffy and runny nose.”

The agency, however, clarified that the use of the said medicine is only allowed with a doctor’s prescription.

Donation for the people of Kalinga

The Philippine Archipelago International Trading Corporation (PAITC) granted the request of the congressman, thus they sent the boxes of Lianhua Qingwen capsules to his office.

The delivery of the PAITC to the Congressman’s Office was facilitated by Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong who obtained the same medicine for the people of Baguio.

The donated capsules shall be distributed by the Office of the Congressman to proper health facilities in the province.

Mangaoang, through his official Facebook page, expressed gratitude to the donors for their generosity.
