Cong. Mangaoang reiterates rights, privileges of PWDs and senior citizens

Tanudan, Kalinga – Recognizing the priceless contribution of persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens in the society, Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang reiterated that they should take advantage of the rights and privileges that the government programmed for their sectors.

One of which is the 20% discount that they could avail from all establishments and service providers. Mangaoang, through his representative Fernando Cosidon, explained this during the general assembly of Pangol PWDs ad senior citizens held at Baccong, Pangol, Tanudan on January 8, 2022.

According to the congressman, PWDs and elderly welfare are protected by the Philippine laws and their Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRRs) shall be claimed by deserving beneficiaries.

Establishments and government agencies to provide priority lane

PWDs and senior citizens, Mangaoang added, are entitled to ‘priority lanes’ for easier access and accommodation in all private and government establishments, as he appealed to local officials and establishment heads to ensure the availability of such special lanes in their establishment and offices.

Creation of municipal ordinances in support for the PWDs and elderly

Further, the congressman recommended the creation of municipal ordinances to add more benefits to the sectors, such as the provision of monthly allowance.

“Daytoy ket kas panang-bigbig kadagiti sakripisyo ken banbannogda a nangaywan kadagiti kapototan da tatta nga agdama nga agak-akem iti gobyerno wenno madama agsagsagrap kadagiti sakripisyo da idi,” Mangaoang stressed.

The Congressman ends his message asking for the sectors’ support of local developments, adding that his office remains open for queries and assistance.
