Construction of Kalinga Children Ward and Wellness Center continues this August

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The second phase of construction works for the three-storey Kalinga Children’s Ward and Wellness Center will begin next month.

With the health center’s eventual completion, it is expected that better and more medical services will be provided to patients and clients from the province and nearby areas.

The recent development was relayed Monday, July 25 by Provincial Information Officer Dionica Mercado, adding that some building space will also be provided for business enterprises providing basic necessities which will generate additional revenue for the province.

The 6o-bed capacity health care center’s diagnostic areas were finished in November last year.

By 2022, the provincial government unit aimed to finish the building’s structure.

Mercado said the provincial government will be utilizing P50 million pesos, from their savings, to turn said vision into reality.

She added the provincial engineering office is preparing the project’s program of works.

the said office is also working on needed documents in order to get additional funds from the national government.

If able to source out funds, these will be used in the building’s electrification and other facility needed in the operation of the health care center.

As recalled, the construction of said edifice started in 2018.

Last year, the building’s diagnostic areas were completed through the P5 million fund from the Department of Health – Cordillera through its Health Facilities Enhancement Program.

The diagnostic areas completed include rooms for CT scan, X-ray, MRI, control, supply, darkroom, the RadTech office, lobby, toilet, and the area’s pantry.
