CPP-NPA Commander impostor arrested in Cagayan

Cagayan, Philippines – A 53-year-old woman who allegedly pretended as a commander of the Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army to demand money from a victim was arrested in an entrapment operation in Tuao on Saturday.


Operatives staged the entrapment operation after the victim, a 64-year-old businesswoman, told the police that a certain ‘Nita’, who is posing to be a commander of the CPP-NPA is demanding P50,000 revolutionary tax from her.

The Cagayan Police Provincial Office reports that the suspect allegedly threatened the victim that she and her helper will be in danger if she failed to give the money.


Said entrapment operation resulted to the arrest of the suspect and confiscation of a piece of P1,000 bill; P50,000 boodle money; a piece of home-made short firearm with live ammunition for cal 5.56mm; and 7 other pieces of the same live ammo.



After inventory, the suspect was brought to the custody of Tuao Police Station and a case for Extortion and Violation of Republic Act 10591 shall be filed against her.
