CPP-NPA force in Kalinga diminished

Tabuk City, Kalinga — Forces of Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army in the province is now minimal, and remaining members of the movement are encouraged to come down and take advantage of the support and assistance from the government.


As the CPP-NPA celebrates its 52 years this December 26, Kalinga Police Provincial Director PCol. Davy Vicente Limmong said, in an interview, that insurgency and terrorism have not brought anything good nor any sign of progress as they instead brought destruction to government projects and equipment to name a few.

Fortunately, he said the presence of these rebels in Kalinga is now minimal and their forces reduced. They are hundred percent declared as Persona Non Grata in the province.

“Tattan ket medyo stable [peace and order] tayo because of their minimal presence, nagreduce so with that we can see improvement nga napaspas iti probinsiya,” he said.


The Kalinga Police Provincial Director reiterated call to the remaining yKalingas in the mountains to surrender as the government is with open arms in welcoming them back together with some assistance and support as they start their new life.

“We can all participate in the government and we can all always voice out our grievances in a peaceful way, there are many ways of settling problems and dispute so I hope nga dagiay daduma nga nabatbati marealize da kuman iti ustu nga panggep na daytoy NPA nga awan met iti maited na nga nasayaat,” he said.


“And hopefully there will be no more individuals or youth to be recruited nga mainayun paylang or sumali kanyada. So, by next year, I hope totally awan metten kuma iti problema iti insurgency ditoy Kalinga tapnu tuloy tuloy iti panag asenso tayo,” he added.

In a previous report, 31 Communist Terrorist Group members surrendered this year and 70 Militia ng Bayan in the region. Moreover, 2 high ranking CTG personalities in CAR were arrested by the police.


Additionally, hundred percent of the barangays in Cordillera have already passed their resolutions declaring CPP-NPA as Persona Non Grata.
