Tabuk City, Kalinga – A dead body of a male was discovered at a quarry site in Purok 2, Lanna on Wednesday afternoon, September 24.

Kalinga Police Spokesperson, PCapt. Ruff Manganip told GURU Press Cordillera that the security guard of the quarry site relayed to police investigators that he was gathering firewood at the area when he found a cadaver next to a pile of firewood.

Upon being alerted about the incident, the Tabuk City police proceeded to the place and saw the cadaver described to be naked and with a bloated body.

Manganip informed that the body was taken by the police to Falgui Funeral homes, while authorities wait for the family members of the missing individual in Bauko, Mountain Province to verify if the cadaver is their missing kin.

It could be recalled that search and rescue teams in Mountain Province were deployed to look for a 59-year-old farmer who was last seen on September 22 after he was dropped off by his son at his pasture in Sitio Loccong, Otucan Sur in Bauko.

“The family of the missing person in Bauko, Mountain Province is on their way to Tabuk City for verification and identification of the cadaver if it is their family member,” Manganip said.
