Drug watchlist personality in Kalinga caught with shabu on Maundy Thursday

Pinukpuk, Kalinga – Despite providing security and assistance during the Lenten season, the Kalinga police did not cease their efforts in busting a man for illegal drugs in Pinukpuk.

The police in the province were deployed to various areas to ensure safety and order during Holy Week, a time when many people go out for picnics and family outings. However, this did not mean that anti-illegal drugs operations would be halted.

On March 28, during the observance of Maundy Thursday, undercover operatives ventured to Sitio Pong-ad, Taga to meet with the 30-year-old suspect for a buy-bust operation.

The accused, Christopher Sangdaan, identified by the Kalinga police as a Street Level Individual Drug personality, was arrested for allegedly selling two small sachets of suspected shabu to an undercover cop.

The police also confiscated an additional two sachets of the same suspected contraband from the suspect.

After inventorying these items, along with a cellphone, the P1000 buy-bust money, and P906, the suspect was taken to the Pinukpuk Municipal Police Station for documentation and the filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
