Duterte Legacy Barangayanihan Caravan held in Buscalan, Tinglayan



Tinglayan, Kalinga – With the intention to bring government services closer to the people, the Local Government of Tinglayan headed by Mayor Sacrament Gumilab conducted the “Duterte Legacy Barangayanihan Caravan Towards Recovery” in Barangay Buscalan last week.


The “Duterte Legacy BARANGAYanihan Caravan” is a joint effort of all agencies of the government and private sectors to inform the public about government programs, policies, and accomplishments, as well as to bring various services to the people.


The LGU with its Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) and the Municipal Health Office (MHO) partnered with the different national line agencies including the Philippine Army, Philippine National Police (PNP)-Tinglayan, and the Bureau of Fire Protection and provided services through a “one-stop shop serbisyo caravan.”


Tinglayan Municipal Police Station (MPS) provided youth, elders, and women sector of Buscalan lectures on anti-illegal drugs, anti-terrorism, and insurgency, anti-violence against women and their children, crime prevention, and safety tips. They also distributed food packs to the participants.

As for MENRO and BFP, they lectured on proper solid waste management and fire prevention.


Personnel from AFP and PNP, meantime, provided “Libreng gupit” for all young men and children in the area while the MHO conducted vaccination.


"This Duterte Legacy Caravan is one forum for bringing the government closer to the people. Through this, people would feel how our government works for their interest and for the common good,” Mayor Gumilab said in a statement.


He also conveyed his gratefulness to all the agencies who took part in the event and expressed hope that those who participated in the lectures have instilled in their minds what they have learned especially the lectures on anti-illegal drugs, anti-terrorism and, and the prevention of crimes.
