La Trinidad, Benguet – A 19-year-old woman chose to do what was right over protecting her father after she returned P350,000 that he had allegedly snatched from a woman in La Trinidad, Benguet.

According to PMaj. Avelmar Renan Garambas, Deputy Chief of Police of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, the young woman learned about her father's involvement in the incident through social media reports regarding the theft that occurred along KM5, La Trinidad, on June 8.

Having been raised to value honesty and integrity, the daughter went to the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station at around 4:00 p.m. on June 9 and voluntarily surrendered the money her father had taken from the victim.

Garambas said the suspect was allegedly driven by financial difficulties being faced by him and his family at the time of the incident.

The victim, Cleofe Toguinay, expressed gratitude for the daughter's decision to return the money and uphold the values her father had taught them despite his alleged wrongdoing.

In a gesture of forgiveness, the victim also declined to file charges against the suspect.
