Elf accidentally runs over a rider in Pantikian, Balbalan

Balbalan, Kalinga – Riders are advised to take extra precautionary measures as another rider died in an accident after trying to overtake on Sunday noon, September 12 in Pantikian, Balbalan.

According to Kalinga Police Provincial Director, Police Colonel Davy Vicente Limmong, at around 12:40 PM, a rider died on the spot when he was hit by an elf after he fell on the road in an attempt to pass it.

Police reported that the rider was moving past the elf on a muddy portion of the road when his motorcycle slid, causing the rider to fall right on the path of the elf it was supposed to overtake.

The police identified the victim as a certain Denmar Andente, while the elf is driven by a certain Christian Alberto.

Both vehicles were heading to Poblacion, Balbalan, when the accident happened.

“Ag-travel diay duwa, motor ken daytoy elf towards Poblacion, Balbalan kanu ket addan sa diay medyo nag-overtake daytoy motorsiklo, [idi] binmatog isuna idiay ayan iti sangu iti elf, naikaglis, natumba, naaala metten diay ulo na,” he said, adding that the victim died on the spot.

The elf’s driver is now at the Balbalan Municipal Police Station.
