Former Kalinga Police Director attributes successful work to public support

Updated: Jun 9

Tabuk City, Kalinga – For the past 10 months, Police Colonel Freddie Lazona led the Kalinga police force with dedication and commitment to maintaining peace in the province, keeping the province generally in order.

Lazona, who hails from Benguet, assumed office as the Kalinga Police Provincial Director (PD) in August 2023 and recently turned over the command to his successor, Police Colonel Gilbert Fati-ig, on June 5, 2024.

Among the initiatives Lazona made during his stint as the PD in Kalinga include the creation of Mobile Patrol Unit and Traffic Unit which guard the streets against criminal activities, respond to vehicular accidents, and implement traffic ordinances.

The former PD relayed that with the traffic unit, the city generated at least P60,000 daily from traffic violations.

Lazona, during his term, likewise deployed more police officers in Tabuk City to ensure public order and safety in the province’s capital.

As he wrapped up his 10 months as the top police official in Kalinga on Wednesday, Lazona took the chance to thank the uniformed men and women of KPPO, the stakeholders, and the yKalingas for their support.

“During my term as your Acting Provincial Director, our relentless implementations of our campaign strategies against criminalities, illegal drugs, illegal gambling, and terrorism have resulted to numerous accomplishments. We cannot accomplish these without the passion and dedication of the Kalinga PPO personnel with the very supportive people of Kalinga,” he expressed.
