San Isidro, Isabela – Police are tracking down the driver of a sedan who allegedly drove away from a gasoline station in San Isidro, Isabela, without paying for ₱2,500 worth of fuel.

The incident reportedly occurred last week at a gasoline station in the municipality. CCTV footage from the establishment, which has since circulated online, showed a sedan arriving at the station and refueling.

According to reports, the vehicle was filled with fuel worth ₱2,500. However, after the refueling was completed, the driver allegedly sped away without settling the bill.

In the footage, a pump attendant could be seen attempting to stop the vehicle, but the sedan continued driving away.

The video quickly went viral on social media, drawing reactions from netizens.

Some questioned how a motorist could own a vehicle yet allegedly leave without paying for fuel.

“May 4 wheels pero walang pang gas? Benta niya na sasakyan niya,” one netizen commented.

Another wrote: “Ang kapal ng mukhang mag-4 wheels, pero wala namang pang-gas. Kawawa naman yang tinakbuhan niya. Di niya naisip na may CCTV sila. Mahinang nilalang.”

As of this writing, authorities are conducting an investigation, including tracing the vehicle’s registration, ownership records, and reviewing additional CCTV footage to identify the suspect and determine his or her whereabouts.

Further details have yet to be released as the case remains under investigation.

The incident is the latest in a series of so-called “gas-and-run” cases reported in different parts of the country, where motorists allegedly leave fuel stations without paying after refueling.

In several incidents reported in Luzon and the Visayas, drivers of private vehicles and motorcycles were caught on CCTV allegedly employing the same scheme, often fleeing immediately after their tanks were filled.

Authorities continue to remind fuel station operators to remain vigilant and immediately report similar incidents to law enforcement agencies.
