TABUK CITY, Kalinga — With no major untoward incidents reported during this year’s Undas observance, the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (KPPO) thanked the public for their cooperation and compliance with safety guidelines as they visited the graves of their departed loved ones on November 1 and 2, 2026.

In a phone interview on November 3, KPPO spokesperson PMaj. Ruff Manganip said the province remained generally peaceful during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

He said cemetery visitors followed police guidelines, resulting in the confiscation of only three bolos, which were among the prohibited items in cemeteries.

“We thank the general public iti cooperation da iti panawagan tayo ken kadagiti panawagan iti different municipal and city stations tayo maipangged kadagita ‘what to do’ during Undas, isu nga agpaspasalamat ni Provincial Director tayo, PCol. Peter Ngabit Jr. ta generally peaceful daytoy Undas tayo,” Manganip said.

Despite their deployment to secure cemeteries and other areas during Undas, Manganip said police personnel continued to carry out their law enforcement duties, resulting in the arrest of two individuals during the period.

A rice mill worker was arrested on November 1 in Bulanao, Tabuk City, for allegedly selling suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation.

Another man was arrested in Barangay Dao-angan, Balbalan, on November 1 for a violation of Presidential Decree No. 705, or the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines.

Manganip also reported that a loose firearm was voluntarily surrendered to the Tinglayan police during the Undas period.

Police personnel likewise assisted a motorcycle rider who crashed after encountering a stray animal in Barangay Ileb, Nambaran, on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, no drowning incidents were recorded in the province during this year’s Undas observance.
