Tabuk City, Kalinga - Governor James Edduba showed his strong support to the Kalinga youth by donating his salary to the province’s athletes and coaches who joined Region CAR to compete at the Palarong Pambansa 2025.

The governor visited the playing venues in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, to personally check the situation of the Kalinga delegates.

During his visit, Edduba extended financial assistance to the athletes from Tabuk City and the Schools Division Office of Kalinga from his salary as governor.

Each of the 9 athletes from the SDO-Kalinga and 35 from Tabuk received P3,000, according to the Kalinga Information Office. The cash aid aimed to help the delegation with their needs throughout the event.

More than just money, the father of the province’s presence and support gave the team a boost of encouragement and pride, knowing that their leader is with them.

When he was there talking to them, Governor Edduba reminded the athletes that they are not alone and that the whole province is watching.

As of 9:00 a.m. on May 31, the Cordillera Fearless Highlanders now have a total of 41 medals at this year’s Palarong Pambansa, an impressive haul that includes 17 golds, 13 silvers, and 11 bronzes. They are currently number 9 in the ranking.
