Tabuk City, Kalinga – As the local campaign period officially begins today, March 25, 2022, Incumbent Governor Ferdinand B. Tubban, who is seeking a re-election holds prayer rally at his residence in Barangay Dagupan Centro.

Tubban said it has always been his practice to ask God’s guidance and blessings before commencing or partaking in huge activities whose result will affect communities in people, adding that his candidacy has been dedicated to God in order to have divine support.

The governor, who is vying for a second term, related that since he first ran as the City Mayor of Tabuk in 2010, he has put God first and has offered his success to the Almighty.

The Thanksgiving Service and Fellowship Breakfast was held this morning, which is a tradition to the Tubban family before they officially go out to campaign in every election.

“Ket mamati nak a ni laeng Apo Diyos iti mabalin a pangitalkan tayo ti amin ket agyamanak iti suporta ken tulong yu. Adda kayo tatta ditoy ta kastoy iti inar-aramid tayo ngamin kas kuna ni manong Henry tattay – di 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, ket ni latta Apo Diyos iti umuna a pangitaltalkan tayo amin,” Tubban said, thanking the UCCP Church and other religious sectors for always leading the prayer for his campaign rally.

‘Hindi lang siya leader, follower din’ – Kalinga 1st Lady

On the other hand, the governor’s wife, Dr. Ana Tubban thanked the people who keep on supporting her husband during election period and during his first term as the Kalinga local chief executive.

“Sa nagdaang tatlong taon ng kanyang termino, nandiyan kayo at sumuporta sa kanya sa kanyang adhikain na mapabuti ang ating probinsiya. Maraming maraming salamat… Salamat sa pagtitiwala sa kanyang panunungkulan,” she conveyed.

She added that her husband didn’t take the support for granted and that he worked hard to serve the people, looking on the positive side of everything amidst criticisms and negative comments that aims at besmirching his capability as a leader.

“Siya pinili niyo bilang leader, at siya bilang leader, alam kong nakikinig siya sa inyo. Sinasabi niya sa sarili niya na hindi lang siya leader, follower din siya. Inaalam niya lahat ng mga kahinaan niya at ina-acknowledge niya ang mga ito at pinapasa-Diyos niya lahat,” she said.

Former Kalinga Governor

Among those present at the Thanksgiving Service and Fellowship Breakfast is former Kalinga Governor Floydelia Diasen, who endorsed Tubban, saying that she saw how the governor worked hard when he was still the mayor of Tabuk for three terms and as the governor of Kalinga.

“Gagayyem, ammu yu ngay nagrigat iti agpulitiko. Haan laeng a gastos, haan laeng a time, haan laeng a resources iti ited tayo, but we give our heart to serve the people. Ket siyak a kas ina, naob-obserbarak met nga iti tallo tawen a panag-mayor ni Ferdie, iti first time na a governor, ket nagserserbi a napudno kadatayo,” she said, adding that this should be enough reason to let Tubban continue what he had started in Kalinga.

“Ket makita tayo met iti nagapwanan na, haan tayo met a bulag. Ket nu lapayag iti usaren tayo, adu siguro iti negative, fake news a nangnangngeg tayo. But as a politician, I know a dagiay madi a dengdenggen tayo can be overcome by the good deeds and progressive deeds of a politician,” she further said.
