Gov. Tubban, PHO reiterate observance of health protocols to contain rising COVID-19 cases

Updated: Jul 20, 2021

Tabuk City, Kalinga—With the rise of COVID-19 cases this July, Provincial Governor Ferdinand B. Tubban and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Edward Tandingan are appealing to the public to follow the minimum health protocols to contain further spread of the deadly virus.

Dr. Tandingan, during the radio program of the Office of the Governor, reported that for the first 10 days of this month, the province recorded 46 cases of COVID-19, 37 of which are from the city of Tabuk, 6 in Rizal, and 1 each from Lubuagan, Tinglayan, and Balbalan.

The data, the health officer said, is far higher compared to June 1-10 adding that since there were minimal cases in the previous month, the inflation this July highly affected the “indicator of virus transmission.”

The transmission of the virus accelerated with the increase of cases, thus the doctor recommended consistent observance of protective measures as the best and most effective way to battling the pandemic.

The Provincial Health Officer then alerted everyone to stay safe with the regular use of face masks, face shields, frequent handwashing, and avoidance of crowded places, closed contact, and closed space without ventilation.

Meanwhile, Governor Tubban reminds the public to be more cautious as the virus is still lurking in the community and that the virus could be unknowingly being transmitted since a person could be asymptomatic.

Tubban congratulated all front liners, especially health workers and other key agencies, for doing their best to contain the spread. He likewise thanked the public for their cooperation in “performing their roles and responsibilities.”

“Ammuk nga iti daytuy nga MGCQ, wennu panag-baba iti restriction ti status tayo ket gapu ti kooperasyon ti tunggal maysa kadatayo, nang-nangruna kadatayo nga umili. Thank you so much and God bless us all,” the governor concluded.
