Gov. Tubban urges LGUs to work on stricter protocol implementation with rise of Delta cases

Tabuk City, Kalinga – With the rise of Delta case in Kalinga Province, Governor Ferdinand Tubban is now urging LGUs on the continuous implementation of stricter community quarantine guidelines and execute the immediate measures needed in response to the detection of the cases.


Gov. Tubban likewise told the public that the order suspending unessential travels and holding of unessential activities is still up and running.


Earlier, the Provincial Health Office Kalinga through the Provincial Information Office on Monday, September 20, 2021, confirmed the detection of 7 new cases of the more infectious Covid-19 Delta Variant in the province, bringing a total of 8 cases of the variant.


Of the new cases, 1 came from Santor, Rizal, 2 from Liwan West, Rizal, 1 from Mabilong Lubuagan, 1 from Dagupan Weste, Tabuk, and 2 from Bulanao Norte, Tabuk.

Upon receipt of the information, PIO Kalinga said “the authorities have undertaken the initial steps to address the situation and will continue to do so.”


Likewise, PIO Kalinga said the provincial and municipal local government units in Kalinga to where the cases originated were already informed regarding the matter.


Tubban was also reported "reminding the public that the suspension of unessential travels and holding of unessential activities is not yet lifted."


To date, the province has a record of 753 active Covid-19 cases, third among provinces and a city in the region having high numbers of Covid-19 cases.


In connection, most of the hospitals and infirmaries accommodating COVID-19 cases in the province have already reached maximum capacity and have decided to close temporarily or suspend admission of COVID-19 patients until further notice. These include Kalinga Provincial Hospital, San Juan General Hospital, and Holy Trinity Medical Clinic.
