Kalinga Bodong Council office now open to serve

Tabuk City, Kalinga― Provincial Bodong Council of Elders (PBCE) has recently been provided with an office and is now open to serve, according to the report of PBCE Secretary Emmanuel Abadilla duringn a radio station program Isangguni sa Ating Gobernador.


Abadilla said the council shall now be able to carry out their duties and functions on a more efficient and effective manner as peacemaker of the provincial government through the Bodong system.


Abadilla, in said radio program of Governor Ferdinand B. Tubban, expressed his gratitude for the grant, adding that the request was approved by the Provincial Government through Governor Ferdinand B. Tubban. Abadilla said the council is part of Tubban’s advocacy.

What is the Provincial Bodong Council of Elders (PBCE)?


Abadilla explained that PBCE is a group or council of elders who are seasoned peacemakers having broad experiences and exemplary characteristics.


“Daytoy ket maysa nga grupo wenno council dagiti papangat tayo ti Kalinga nga dagitoy ket dagiti makunkuna nga seasoned nga peacemaker nga saan nga basta basta met ti naggapgapwan da, adu ti kapadasan da panggep iti panangtameng kadagiti problema, tribal conflict ken daduma pay nga haan nga pagkikinaawatan dagiti tattao, isu dagitoy dagiti mangbubuo,” he said.


PBCE was established by the past administration but it is only now during this administration that it is being organized.

Furthermore, he said that the council is primarily for the purpose of mediating and negotiating on the amicable settlement of different cases of both parties even between Binnodngan and Non-Bonnodngan.


“Mang negotiate, mang mediate kadagiti tribal conflict dagiti saan nga pagkikinaawatan nga iy iyeg da ditoy kasi adu ti kaskaso nga maikabkabil wenno maidandanun ditoy nga problema dagiti tribtribo, mabalin nga land dispute, mabalin nga personal, kaso nga related nga maapektaran iti tribes,” he said.


“Isu nga dagitoy elders tayo isu da ti agtrabaho, mangnegotiate, agmediate tapno maisimpa ket ti maipakat ditoy nga kasla nga linteg isu diyay makunkuna nga Bodong/Pagta,” he added.


Last January 7, 2021, a short program was conducted for the office blessing which was attended by Governor Ferdinand Tubban, Provincial IPMR Hon. Mike Sugguiyao, Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Ken Martinez and Provincial Administrator Atty. William C. Puday Jr.
