Regular and random drug tests for Kalinga police showed negative results

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Philippine National Police in the province conducted their regular and random drug tests recently with clean results, meaning all tested negative.

This result has been expected as for years the Kalinga police have not been tested positive of drugs whenever random tests are carried out.

“So far, naging years na, wala naman nagpopositive sa atin,” said Kalinga Police Provincial Director PCol. Davy Vicente Limmong.

Limmong explained that a drug test is a monthly activity for the personnel in the drug enforcement unit. On other hand, other police personnel are subjected to regular random drug tests happening anytime, anywhere.

During a random test the personnel, he said, are not allowed to refuse. If they do they will be charged administratively. Additionally, personnel who tests positive will be charged and will be removed from service.

The Kalinga Police Provincial Director further said that the negative drug test result of the Kalinga police shows that the Kalinga police are clean.

“For me at least that shows nga malinis met dagitoy personnel tayo, so far I’m confident na awan iti personnel nga na-involve iti kasjay. So I hope that the discipline will remain because ... kasla agduda da ngay nga apay kanyami ket nagadu source iti drugs ditoy ket awan iti addict. Isu iti pagdudahan da nu apay kanu,” he said.

“So even dagiay agpu-puur during erad [eradication of Marijuana], negative da met. So it means to say awan iti agus usar ditoy,” he added.
