Pasil, Kalinga – Around 50 totally dependent persons with disabilities (PWDs) from Pasil were provided with P3,000.00 each from Kalinga Provincial Local Government Unit today, August 11, 2021.

Executive Assistant Elizabeth Balais II, representing Governor Ferdinand Tubban, along with Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) Officer-in-Charge Rose Maritez Oyawon handed said cash aid at the Municipal Hall in Amdalao, Pasil.

Provincial Information Office, in a press release, disclosed that this is the third year that the PLGU is extending financial assistance to the PWDs, hoping to augment their expenses for their medical needs and other necessities.

According to Pasil Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Segundina D. Gumabay, the program was proposed by PSWD Oyawon in 2018 and was then approved by the provincial government.

Gumabay said that like the senior citizens, it is also the priority of the government to help the PWDs to help ease their situation.

“Dagitoy PWDs, isuda ti maysa pay a mas nangangailangan ken tapnu ngay maipada kadagituy senior citizen nga agres-receive ti social pension so ustu met ta inaprobaran ti province,” Gumabay said in an interview.

Pasil MSWD Officer stressed that the PWDs who received the financial assistance are those who met the criteria.

“Dagiay talaga a bedridden, dagidiay grabe ti situation da. Dagidiay PWD a movable kada napigsa, haan,” Gumabay said.

Gumabay added that said program of PSWD was adopted then by the municipal LGU.

“Dagiay han nga naala ti province isu ti target ti LGU,” she explained.

Around 15 other PWDs will be receiving the same financial support from the Pasil LGU next week.
