Kalinga soldier killed in Sulu now home

Pinukpuk, Kalinga – The Kalinga soldier who was killed during the firefight with members of the Abu Sayyaf in Patikul, Sulu was brought home in Apatan, Pinukpuk this February 3.


The remains of Private First Class Jay Clint Pasingan arrived at their house around 8:00 in the morning today, according to a relative.

The 29-year-old soldier died on January 31 after the military launched an all-out-offensive operation against Abu Sayyaf in Bangkal Patikul after the group was reported to have carried out terror activities in the community.


The said operation was also conducted after one of the soldiers who sent off their comrades to visit their family was killed by the terrorist group.

Pasingan, the youngest child of four siblings, joined the service in 2018. He has two young kids ages 7 and 4.


The late soldier’s interment will be at 9:00 in the morning on February 9. He will be buried in his hometown, says his relative.
