Tabuk City, Kalinga― Province of Kalinga will soon have its own Commission and Higher Education (CHED) provincial office after Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang gets approval of the House Bill No. 8453 or establishment of CHED provincial office from the committee on rules.

Mangaoang said in an interview that he crafted the House Bill No. 8453 for the province to have its own CHED provincial office since Kalinga is one of the farthest from the CHED-CAR which is located in La Trinidad, Benguet.

“Ket halos amin nga probinsya idiay da nga mapmapan and we are one of the farthest like Apayao di bale ti daduma ta asideg da…it would take us about 8-12 hours nu adda ti lugan mo, nu agpampasahero ka ket halos mapan ti more than 12 hours,” he said.

Mangaoang said that the establishment of the said provincial office will bring easier and faster access for the concerns especially on educational concerns of the students.

“Tapno dagiti agap apply iti scholarship grant makasecure da iti document ditoy provincial office rather than mapan da paylang idiay… tapno haan umadayo ti kakailyan nga agplete da, aggastos da, aghotel da pay diay daduma nu awan ti pagyanan da idiay Baguio wenno La Trinidad,” he said.

Moreover, Mangaoang mentioned that he is working intensively for the conversion of schools in Dupag, Tabuk City and one in Balbalan as national high schools along with the conversion of Apayao-Kalinga-Abra into national road.

“Dakkel ti tulong na daytoy, so those are the change and the reason on why we file all of these measures, anything that we file in congress is all renowned to the advantage of our constituents in Kalinga, am amin met nga ipaspasa tayo,” he said.

Meantime, said House Bill No. 8453, ‘Establishing a provincial office of the Commission and Higher Education (CHEd) in the province of Kalinga and appropriating funds therefore,’ is now up for endorsement for its 2nd and final reading at the plenary then it shall be submitted to the senate for its concurrence.
