Tabuk City, Kalinga―More employment opportunities, salary increase, and rapid upgrade of facilities is expected following the conversion of the Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH) into tertiary level to be known as the Northern Cordillera Regional Medical Center, according to Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang.

This is closer to realization as Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang obtained the approval of the House Bill No. 8273 by the committee on rules and it is now up for endorsement for its 2nd and final reading at the plenary. The bill shall be submitted to the senate for its concurrence.

House Bill No. 8273 is ‘An act converting the KPH in City of Tabuk, Province of Kalinga into a level III Regional hospital to be known as the Northern Cordillera Regional Medical Center and appropriating funds therefore.’

In an interview, Mangaoang said that the conversion of the hospital shall bring great improvement and development to the hospital and an advantage to the people of Kalinga.

“In terms of employment, ad adu ti maemploy, in terms of upgrading of salary nangatngato iti pay scale da ta national funded, and all the necessary funding requirement….it will now be easily provided by the national government. Nu maaramid nga linteg, maitultuloy tu nga palpasen dayta,” he said.

Furthermore, he said that the conversion of the KPH into tertiary level will enable the Provincial LGU to concentrate on the progress of the 5 district hospitals in the province since the hospital will soon be managed by the Department of Health (DOH).

“Makaconcentrate tun ti provincial government tayo kadagiti district hospitals… ta haan nga bale ta diyay ni Provincial Hospital agbalin tun nga national,” he said.

Thus, Mangaoang is hopeful that the said bill will reach its full legislation within this year.
