Tabuk City, Kalinga─Kalinga Provincial Tourism Officer Lorraine Ngao-i is appealing for public specially travelers or tourists planning see the tourism sites in the province to adhere government policies and issuances.

All tourism activities she underscored are still suspended in the entire province.

Following the tragic accident that claimed 13 lives in Bulo last April 18, Ngao-i stressed that the Executive Order prohibiting tourism activities released by Local Chief Executives (LCE) is still in effect.

“Mayroon naman talagang executive orders ng mga Mayors ng Kalinga suspending tourism activities kaya ngayon mas paigtingin pa ang implementation for safety of the public,” she said.

She said that the province is placed under General Community Quarantine, so the public must still strictly follow the health and safety protocols considering that the pandemic poses a threat to every one’s life.

“Marami pang araw na pwede tayong mamasyal ulit pag okay na ang panahon. So an appeal to the public to refrain from going to our tourism sites, tulungan po natin ang ating mga sarili at tulungan din natin ang mga nagpapatupad ng kanilang mga tungkulin,” she said.

In relation to this, the Kalinga Police Provincial Office has also directed the implementation of closure of places of convergence, parks, resorts, and other picnic sites in the province.

Meantime, as per latest National Inter-agency task force on GCQ guidelines, only Department of Tourism accredited tourism establishments are allowed to open on 50% capacity.
