“Kasapulan ti Bulanao Public Market ti leaders nga adda simpatya na”-Placido Alsiyang

Updated: Jan 11, 2022

Tabuk City, Kalinga – As an adviser of Bulanao Public Market Stall Owners, Vendors and Consumers Association, Placido Alsiyang called for unity among members to elect deserving leaders with sympathy to help resolve the ongoing issue faced by the association as this, he said, is a huge concern in the province that should be addressed.

Alsiyang made the remark during the year-end program and 2022 general assembly of the association conducted on January 09 at Bacras, Bulano Norte, Tabuk City.

Members of the association are bound to lose livelihood if the demolition of Bulanao Public Market for a mall under XRC Developer pushes through.

It can be recalled that City Mayor Darwin Estrañero led the ground-breaking ceremony of the construction for the so-called modernized Bulanao public market on October 26, 2021, despite unresolved issues raised by the legal counsel of the association, Atty. Errol Comafay.

Alsiyang assured the members that their advisers feel their fear, but these struggles, he stressed, should be dealt with by prayers for the providence to guide them against the opposition.

“Daytoy laban tayo to save the public market, han nga bukbukud nga panunut tayo dayta. Panunut ti namarsua nga isakit tayo dagiay tattao itatta, tattao intun bigat ken tattao intun umay nga henerasyon,” Alsiyang.

No power as of yet

Having no positon in the local government yet, Alsiyang acknowledged that they lack power in their fight as they are considered as ‘ordinary.’

“Awan gamin ti power tayo nu ordinary tayo laeng nga tattao, 50% laeng, ngem nu adda ti ited ti tattao nga posisyon, umanay dayta nga mangilaban iti 100% nga power,” stated the city counselor aspirant.

Alsiyang then asked for the members of the said association to have unity and choose leaders who are not afraid in the fight for justice and truth.
