KPH get P10.5M additional funding for indigent patients’ medical support

Tabuk City, Kalinga - The Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH), through the Medical Assistance Indigency Program (MAIP), has received a total of P10.5 million additional budget to support YKalinga families who suffer financial hardship due to their medical payments.

A program by the country’s Department of Health, MAIP, aims to provide financial support to individuals and families who lack the necessary resources to cover their medical expenses.

The program, likewise, is in line with the government's commitment to promote universal healthcare and ensure that no one is left behind due to financial constraints when seeking essential medical treatment.

Of the total budget given, P1 million came from the Department of Health (DOH), and P500,000 was from the office of Congressional Representative Allen Jesse C. Mangaoang.

Said funding was made possible through the initiative of provincial government officials in outsourcing funds for the benefit of their constituents.

Meanwhile, Doctor Rey Aranca, KPH OIC-Chief, extended gratitude to PDOH DMC V Lilia Rose Say-awen and DOH-CAR MAIP Coordinator Martha Cordasco for helping in the preparation of the necessary documents.
