Lubuagan all set for National Vaccination Days: What to do before, during and after COVID-19 vax?



Lubuagan, Kalinga - The Local Government Unit of Lubuagan is ready for the National Vaccination Days to be held from November 29 to December 01, 2021.


Municipal Health Office (MHO) informed that the vaccination sites are the Lubuagan Gymnasium / Eco-Tourism Center on the first day, Lubuagan Senior Highschool at Pudpud, Lubuagan on the second day, and Mabongtot Elementary School on the third.


The activity is in conformity with the Philippines Presidential Proclamation 1253 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, November 25, declaring the days as "Bayanihan, Bakunahan National Covid-19 Vaccination Days" to boost the country’s vaccination rate.

MHO Public Associate Nurse Ceasar Manalwap said that aside from the health office, different line agencies of the LGU shall be participating in the 3-day massive vaccination day to achieve their goal of immunizing more iLubuagen against the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).


“We have volunteers from different agencies, the PNP Lubuagan, to help with (the) security, encoding, screening, post-vaccination monitors, and health educator. We also have other volunteer encoders to be deployed in vaccination sites, and we also tapped respective Barangay Officials and their BHWs (Barangay Health Worker),” said Manalwap.


Part of the preparation, he said, includes the stocking of supplies for common side effects such as an increase in blood pressure, fever, headache, and injection site pain and medicine for anaphylaxis or severe allergic reaction that may be experienced by vaccine recipients during the vaccination activity.

What to do before vaccination?


Manalwap informed that iLubuagens may register before the scheduled dates by contacting the MHO at 09153238237 or through their Facebook messenger. However, he said, recipients can also do a walk-in appointment and register at the identified sites to avail vaccination shots.


What to do during vaccination?


Minors aged 12 to 17 years old are required to present their parent’s or guardian’s consent and shall bring with them:


a.) Any valid identification card (ID) of their parents or authorization letter signed by parents not able to attend. The letter should indicate the guardian’s name attached with the guardian’s valid ID,

b.) Any proof of age like birth, baptismal certificates of the child or passport, and if the child has a medical condition or comorbidity, they need to present a Medical Certificate from their attending pediatrician or physician showing that the child is eligible for vaccination.


Meantime, requirements for adults including pregnant and lactating mothers who will be vaccinated are the following:


a.) Government-issued ID, and

b.) Medical Certificate for those with comorbidities.

What to do after vaccination?


Manalwap said that a Vaccination Card shall be given to those who have undergone vaccination, as indicated under Proclamation 1253. Employees who will be participating in the National Vaccination Days shall not be marked absent provided that they show proof of vaccination to their respective employers.


Meanwhile, he disclosed that as of Friday, November 26, Lubuagan reached 40% of their population rate who are fully vaccinated.


“Our daily jab target now is 218 (eligible persons) to achieve 100% of the target population,” he said.
