Lubuagan, Kalinga – 1,700 individuals in Lubuagan are targeted for the Aggressive Community Testing (ACT) to be conducted on 24-25 February 2021.

In an interview with Municipal Health Officer (MHO) Dr. Caroline Agyao of the local government unit, she stated that individuals to be swabbed are the second and third generation contacts of CoViD-19 positive cases in the municipality, "so that we will come up with the true picture of how widespread the contamination of the virus in the community."

Out of the target number, 400 specimens shall be taken from Barangay Dangoy, 300 from Barangay Poblacion, 200 each from Barangays Mabilong, Mabongtot and Western Uma, 100 each from Barangays Antonio Canao, Tanglag, Lower Uma and Upper Uma.

Listing of possible individuals to undergo the said testing is now being prepared by LGU personnel.

For Antonio Canao, Dangoy, Mabilong and Poblacion, the ACT will be conducted at the Lubuagan Eco-Tourism and Cultural Center while the ACT for Upper Uma will be conducted at Bacao Elementary School. For the rest of the barangays, the ACT will be done in their respective barangay health stations (BHS).

When asked about their contingency plans, Agyao said schools shall be prepared to serve as isolation units, however strict home quarantine is also being considered.

“Kadagidiay areas nga agdidikket ti houses, nu kaspangarigan nga adda iti nag-positive idiay ngem bassit da laeng nga positive, ma-pull out da tapos isu da ti ipan mi kadagiti isolation facilities. But let’s say, adu da idiay nga lugar, ag-strict home quarantine da and they will be closely supervised by our health personnel and then we will impose surgical lockdown. Kasla diay madama nga case mi tatta, the whole family was infected with the virus, ti balay da ket adayu from the community so we allowed them to undergo strict home quarantine ta haan mi met isuda ma-accommodate amin idiay isolation facilities," she explained.

Meanwhile, second and third generation contacts are being encouraged by the MHO to submit themselves for the ACT. They are likewise urged to cooperate with the health personnel regarding the provision of information in the Case Investigation Form (CIF) necessary for the testing.

“Ag-comply da kuma nu anya man iti idamag dagitoy nga health workers, haan da kuma nga agpilosopo ta para met laeng daytoy kadagiti kakailyan, ken daytoy ket preventive measure tapnu maiwasan tayo ti umad-adu pay nga positive cases,” Agyao said.
