Baguio City, Philippines – Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong directed a probe concerning a group of actors with their technical crew, who went to shoot the film “Hey Joe” in Baguio City, after 10 of them were found positive of the Covid-19 virus.

Magalong said the crew led by actor Arjo Atayde is about a hundred individuals and had been staying in the city since last month. They committed to being on bubble set-up while doing the shoot, but later on, found out that it was not followed.

“However, we found out that there were instances where crew members go home and come back to the city without passing through our triage so they are not tested,” the mayor disclosed through the Public Information Office of Baguio.

He added that the group has also failed to do the monthly testing for the virus.

Meantime, the mayor also revealed that Atayde left his group on Monday without informing the city government.

“For some reason, Mr. Atayde left his group yesterday (Monday) without informing us although I’m trying to reach out to him to instruct him on what to do with his group left in the city,” Magalong said.

Magalong, in an interview by RNG Luzon on Aug. 17, has also said that the actor is claiming that he is the only one asymptomatic among them.

“He’s claiming siya lang daw ang asymptomatic at yung mga kasama niya iniwan na lang niya. May potential na puwede siyang makahawa ng iba dahil sa ginawa niya,” he said.

The remaining members positive of the virus, he relayed, are now under isolation while 90 others are now quarantined and to be swab tested after five days.

In connection, Magalong stated that they will now implement stricter monitoring of protocols for other groups to shoot movies in the city to make sure of their adherence to health and safety measures and community quarantine guidelines.
