Construction worker kills fellow in Baguio City due to alcohol intoxication

Baguio City, Philippines – While expressing his apology to the family of his co-worker, a construction worker-suspect of the killing in Baguio City admitted to the heinous crime blaming alcohol intoxication.


“Nakwan ah sir gapu met lang ti araken, diay pinag-ukis ko ti pipino sir nga pinulutan mi,” says Mike Cezo Gale, a native of Bolinao, Pangasinan, when asked by local media on why he stabbed the victim, Jennifer Espinosa Martin, 42.

The crime took place when the victim and the suspect were having a drinking session along with their other co-workers in Santo Tomas Proper, Baguio City, Sunday, July 30, according to a police investigation.


The victim was a stay-at-home worker in said area.


During their drinking spree, the two had an altercation. Enraged, the suspect picked up a knife near him and stabbed the victim in various parts of his body.


Martin was rushed to a hospital in the city but was later declared dead.


The suspect tried to escape but was caught by the police at a bus terminal.


He is now in the custody of the Baguio City Police and will be facing a homicide case.
