Tabuk City, Kalinga – A PWD employee of a water refilling station in Dagupan Centro loses his three cellular phones and hard-earned P8,000 cash to thieves on Sunday morning, May 30.

Rowel Tongdo Bacawen from Ableg, Pasil, in an interview, said that his phones have a total worth of P13,000 while the P8,000 cash was the wage he earned for a temporary menial job in Pasil during the lockdown.

Bacawen narrated that the incident happened at around 6:00 in the morning when he was cleaning outside the water refilling station. He said he was mopping the floor and placed his bag on the counter top outside.

After cleaning the floor, he went inside to get coffee. It was then that two individuals who were riding a motorcycle came, one of them has his face covered with cloth.

Bacawen thought they were going to buy ice, but to his surprise, one of them took his bag then they sped away. The victim ran after them, but the suspects drove fast.

“Haan ko ekspektaren nga adda iti kasdiay a mangyari isunga indissuk pay lang ditoy [counter top],” he said, adding that all of his IDs including his PWD ID and Philhealth ID were in the bag.

The incident is now being investigated by the police.

Beware of riders with their face covered with cloth

In a separate interview, Dagupan Centro Punong Barangay George Esteras warned the public to be vigilant and be careful from riders with their face covered with cloth.

“Dagiay naka-motor a na-cover- an iti rupa da iti lupot or adda sab-it da ken adda iti reserba a lupot idiay abaga da, diay agduda ka idiayen. Ta anya a gapu nga agres-reserba da iti lupot?” he said.

“Be vigilant tatta a tani haanen a rabiin iti tumiraan dan, agsapa kada aldaw en,” he added.
