Cagayan, Philippines – Police arrested ten wanted individuals in Cagayan after intensifying province-wide operations to bring fugitives to justice.

According to the Cagayan Police Provincial Office (CPPO), the successful arrests—including two of the province’s most wanted persons—were the result of relentless manhunt operations conducted on February 2, 2026.

At the top of the list of arrests was a municipal most wanted person apprehended by the Santa Ana Police Station with assistance from a composite team of elite units.

The suspect, whose identity is being withheld pending further proceedings, faces charges of qualified trafficking in persons under Republic Act 9208, or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003.

In a separate operation in Claveria, the province’s Top 2 Most Wanted Persons were taken into police custody for frustrated murder. The court recommended bail of ₱120,000 for the suspect’s temporary liberty.

Authorities said the arrest was the result of synchronized efforts by the PNP Claveria (lead unit), Provincial Intelligence Team–Cagayan North, Regional Intelligence Unit, Claveria Maritime Law Enforcement Team, Provincial Highway Patrol Group–Cagayan, and the 2nd Cagayan Provincial Mobile Force Company.

Aside from these high-profile targets, eight other wanted individuals were also arrested.

These include a woman apprehended in Lal-lo for estafa (with bail set at ₱18,000); an individual arrested in Baggao for violating Section 5(a) of Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act; two suspects in Baggao for serious physical injuries; a man in Camalaniugan arrested for illegal logging (with recommended bail of ₱40,000); a woman in Lal-lo arrested for migrant worker abuse (with bail set at ₱200,000); and a 71-year-old individual in Sta. Teresita who voluntarily surrendered to authorities to face a charge of unjust vexation.

CPPO Director Police Colonel Mardito G. Anguluan said the successful operations are a testament to the police force’s commitment to maintaining peace and order in Cagayan.

He also encouraged the public to cooperate with authorities and provide information that could lead to the arrest of other wanted persons still hiding from the law.

“Ang mga matagumpay na operasyong ito ay patunay ng walang sawang pagsisikap ng ating kapulisan upang mapanatili ang kapayapaan at kaayusan sa lalawigan ng Cagayan. Patuloy naming hinihikayat ang publiko na makipagtulungan at magbigay ng impormasyon upang mas mabilis nating maihatid ang hustisya at matiyak ang kaligtasan ng bawat Cagayano,” Anguluan was quoted as saying.
