Mayor Dagadag urges active participation of Tanudan youth against illegal drugs

Tanudan, Kalinga ─ Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag is appealing for the active community engagement of the young people of Tanudan in the fight against illegal drugs, terrorism, and illegal logging and other illegal activities where the youth are getting involved.


Mayor Dagadag underscored this following the oath taking of the 47 KKDAT (Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo) members and officers of Pangol Chapter in collaboration with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Tanudan, 1st KPMFC personnel, barangay officials, Municipal Government held on July 20, 2021.

Mayor Dagadag, in his message, explains the ill effect of illegal substance use and terrorism that will not only destroy their being but most especially their future. Likewise, he reiterated the bad environmental effects of illegal logging activities in the communities.


“Mayat daytoy a programa ti government a KKDAT ta para met lang kadagitoy future generation dayta, tapno haan da a mainaynayun kadagitoy maikaniwas nga aramid. Ket ti LGU ti Tanudan, karkaru syak nga ama da ket buo ti suportak iti daytoy a programa,” he stressed.

On the other hand, KKDAT members, through Winlen Addamag Apatas, expressed their oneness to serve as the force multiplier of the PNP on illegal drugs and anti-insurgency campaign as they are the ones to advocate the plans and programs thru the active participation of the community.


“This activity plays a big role in the formative years of the youngster within the community for it is their stepping stone to be responsible, resilient. This also aims to strengthen leadership skills and civic engagement,” she said.

Moreover, after the oath taking, a clean-up drive activity was conducted per sitio within the vicinity of Barangay Pangol.


KKDAT is an organization that mobilizes and instills the spirit of volunteerism, enabling the youth sector to strengthen the advocacies relative to anti-criminality and to empower them to become resilient to radical ideologies and lures of illegal drugs.
