Mayor Gumilab and Tinglayan LGU officers join the ‘Binnadang’ for Sacpil, Conner; jugs of water and rehydration solution delivered

Conner, Apayao – When the spirit of ‘Binnadang’ is activated in the Cordillera region, donations and aid pour, just like how iKalingas are joining forces to send help to Sacpil, Conner, Apayao.

Among the recent local government units who sent assistance to the waterborne disease-stricken community is Tinglayan which sent jugs of water to the barangay through its Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office on May 22.

The LGU brought 100 jugs of potable water with four boxes of Oreosol, an oral rehydration solution essential in managing dehydration caused by diarrhea.

In a statement, Mayor Sacrament Gumilab expressed the importance of coming to the aid of other communities, which he said is a value deeply rooted in Tinglayan. 

“Nu adda agkasapulan ket kayam ti tumulong, do it. We don't know the future, baka datayon to met iti adda problema na. In Tinglayan, we do our best to do the 'fachang' where we give whatever we can to families stricken by disaster... it is a way to carry one another's burden tapno saan unay nga nadagsen ti rigat wennu problema nga solbaren," he said.

Barangay Sacpil, meantime, conveyed their gratitude to the Tinglayan LGU for the kind gesture and donations.
