Balbalan, Kalinga – After becoming full-fledged commissioned military officers, two sons of Balbalan paid homage to their roots, where Mayor Almar Malannag encouraged them to serve with honesty and integrity.

The newly commissioned officers are 2LT Kendrick L. Sannadan and 2LT Christian Jay T. Ignacio. Upon their return to Balbalan, they paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Malannag at his office in the Municipal Hall on December 9, 2025. Sannadan is a member of the Philippine Air Force Officer Candidate Course (OCC) “Kahimdalìyan” Class of 2025, while Ignacio is a graduate of the Philippine Army OCC Class 63 “Bumannawag” (2025).

Mayor Malannag, whose administration advocates for youth empowerment in the municipality, expressed pride in the two new additions to the growing roster of accomplished young iBalbalans.

In his message to the two officers, the local chief executive urged them to embody the true spirit of public service by serving the people and the country with honesty and integrity. He also assured them of his and the Balbalan LGU’s full support, saying he is just a phone call away should they need assistance.

“Maragsakan ti taga Balbalan ta adda manen iti dua nga annak nga naidagdag kadagiti agserbi iti publiko ken iti Pilipinas. Proud kami kadakayo, ken kas ama iti ili tayo, ibagak laeng nga haan yo koma liplipatan ti tunay nga esensya ti public service—dayta ket honesty and integrity. Addaak ditoy, ken adda iti LGU nga sisusuporta kadagiti arapaap yo,” Malannag said.

Sannadan and Ignacio later traveled to Tabuk City and paid a courtesy visit to Governor James Edduba, together with nine other newly commissioned iKalinga military officers, on December 12.
