The brothers, identified by a family member as Mark and Octavios, were reported missing after they failed to return home, prompting members of the community and local authorities to launch a search.

At around 6:17 p.m. on September 3, their cousin appealed for help in locating the two boys, saying they had already been missing for almost three days.

Despite the search efforts, the brothers were found dead in the mountainous area of Magsalang, Caganayan, Tineg, on Friday, September 4.

The circumstances surrounding their deaths have yet to be established.

Amid the heartbreaking discovery, the family expressed gratitude to community members, barangay residents and others who joined the search for the two brothers.

In a Facebook post, their cousin thanked those who came to Caganayan to help locate Mark and Octavios and asked for blessings for everyone who extended assistance to the family.

“Agyaman kami kakailyan ken kabaranggayan ken kasta met dagiti naayat nga immay timmolong dita barangay Caganayan, Tineg, Abra,” the cousin wrote.

The family also expressed appreciation to those who patiently helped search for the two boys despite the difficult mountainous terrain.

Meanwhile, the incident comes amid another recent discovery of a body in a forested area in Abra.
