Abra, Philippines – A man from Abra who was reported missing on Friday, November 04, was found dead, floating in a river along Santa, Ilocos Sur on Sunday.

His wife relayed through Abra TV that the victim went out with his companions for a picnic under the Calaba Bridge without telling her. The bridge connects the town of Bangued and La Paz in Abra.

It was around 12 noon of the said day when his companion noticed that he was not around. Only his red t-shirt and slippers near the river were seen.

They then headed to the victim’s family to look for him, but he was nowhere to be found.

The family alerted the authorities on the incident, who immediately conducted a search and rescue operation but failed to find his remains.

Two days after, the family was informed that a decomposing body of a man wearing only his pants was retrieved at 2:45 PM in Barangay Mabilbila Sur, Santa, Ilocos Sur.

The family immediately proceeded to the place and positively identified the victim as Roger Belisario, 49, a resident of Zone 4 Bangued, Abra.

Santa Municipal Police Station said no foul play was observed in the incident.

Belisario's family, however, requested an autopsy of the victim’s body to determine the main cause of death.
