Mt. Province LGU receives 4 CMGP Awards from DILG

Bontoc, Mt. Province – The Provincial Local Government of Mountain Province on Monday, March 1, 2021 received four plaque awards from the Department of Interior and Local Government for their implementation of the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) program.


According to PIO Mt. Province, the province ranked 10th place in the National Ranking and 3rd place in the Regional Ranking on their over-all performance in Absorptive Capacity of the Provincial Government for Fiscal Years 2017, 2018 and 2019, 2019 Governance Reform Performance, and Compliance with the 2020 CMGP fund release requirements.

Further, Mt. Province is 4th place in the National Ranking and 2nd place in the Regional Ranking in the Over-all Performance Assessment in compliance with the 2020 CMGP Fund Release Requirements and 19th Place in the National Ranking and 2nd place for the Regional Ranking in the over-all performance Assessment on Absorptive Capacity in the Implementation of CMGP Projects for FY 2017, 2018 and 2019.


Additionally, the PLGU was conferred a plaque of appreciation for having effectively and efficiently monitored their physical and financial accomplishment in the implementation of CMGP projects.

The awards received by the province are a result of the assessment made by DILG-CAR in the LGU’s absorptive capacity, or the capability of an LGU to implement projects on time and in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement signed by the contracting parties.


CMGP, formerly called KALSADA, is a partnership program between the DILG and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for provincial governments to partly address the poor state of provincial roads across the country, instill governance reforms and improve the competency of provinces in local road management and public financial management.


Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan Jr. expressed his gratitude to DILG for the awards received. PLGU offices involved in the project implementation were likewise acknowledged by the governor.
