Murder suspect in hiding for almost 29 years finally caught in Kalinga

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Cagayan’s top most wanted person will now be facing the murder case filed against him more than two decades ago after he was finally arrested in Barangay Balawag on Friday evening, August 27.

The suspect, identified by Police Regional Office 2 – Regional Public Information Office as Danilo Ruping, 52, and a native of Calanasan, Apayao, is one of the two accused of killing a certain Celso Aquino of Pamplona, Cagayan.

The police report stated that Ruping along with Doroteo Daguna, who was said to have passed away a few years ago, attacked and shot to death Aquino on October 27, 1992, in Alitottong, Pamplona.

On February 21, 1997, warrants of arrest against the two suspects were issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 12, Aparri, Cagayan for ‘Murder’.

Ruping after being arrested by joint operatives in Cagayan and Kalinga was brought to Tabuk City Police Station prior to his turnover to Iguig Police Station for documentation and turnover to the court that issued his warrant of arrest.
