New administration of Tinglayan LGU to take over on June 30

Tinglayan, Kalinga – The Municipality of Tinglayan is now ready to welcome its new administration on Monday, June 30, 2025.

 

For the past nine years, the town has been under the leadership of outgoing Mayor Sacrament Gumilab who built on the vision of his predecessors for a better Tinglayan. As his term ends, a new administration led by Mayor-elect Charles Abay will be taking over and will be driving Tinglayan towards further progress in the next three years.

 

Abay is no newbie to serving the iTinglayans as he was elected as the Municipal Vice Mayor from 2019 – 2022.

Joining Abay in governing Tinglayan is retired PCapt. Alexander Malasi as the Vice Mayor and the elected members of the Sangguniang Bayan which include Regina Banglag, Jaime Tuguic, Francisco Ando, Matthew Awis, Camilo Sa-ing, Samuel Saguilot, Brendon Gonnay, and Ramon Dungoc.

 

This new set of officials will be taking their oath on June 30, 2025 and will officially be starting their 3-year duty as leaders of Tinglayan.

 

In a statement, outgoing Atty. Sacrament S. Gumilab, considered to be the father of modern Tinglayan, thanked his constituents and the government employees of Tinglayan, along with all the barangay officials, for the accomplishments the town has achieved. Gumilab likewise encouraged them to support the new administration for the continuous progress of the municipality.

 

“Agyamanak kaniayo amin, we have proven that even a small municipality like ours can transform and become a model of progress. All the awards, the accolades, and the great changes in our town would not have happened without your trust and support. I ask that you continue to support the town and its development para iti amin nga kakailyan tayo,” said Gumilab in an interview.
