‘No helmet’ tops list of traffic violations in Kalinga

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Non-wearing of helmet among motorcycle riders is the number one traffic violation committed in the province from October 1 to December 10, according to the data from the Kalinga Police Provincial Office.


During the period, a total of 164 traffic laws and ordinance violations were documented by the police in Kalinga.

Of this number, 93 or 56.71% were caught with no helmet. Additionally, 20.12% or 33 individuals were apprehended without a driver’s license.


Moreover, there were also 15 individuals recorded for reckless driving; 7 for not carrying their Official Receipt (OR) or Certificate of Registration (CR); and 7 unregistered motorcycles.

Also, there were 4 people who were caught without mayor’s permit.


Lastly, one violation each was documented for no side or rear-view mirror; use of slippers; defective signaling device; defective horn; and evading apprehension.


Violators were fined and warned by the authorities.
