Baguio has recorded a total of fifty-seven fire incidents from January to the first week of October 2025. This is lower compared to the seventy-nine cases of the same period last year.

Of the cases this year, according to the BFP-Baguio, 20 are listed as residential fires, 10 are non-residential fires, 10 are forest and vehicular fires, seven are grass fires, and one is a post fire.

The major causes of these fires recorded by the agency are electrical ignition because of arcing, unattended cooking, and careless disposal of cigarette butts.

To prevent fire from occurring, the agency continues to encourage the public to be more vigilant to prevent future fires by taking cautionary steps like not leaving cooking unattended, properly disposing cigarette butts, and ensuring that electrical systems and appliances are in good working condition.
