Tabuk City, Kalinga – Anti-corruption advocate and Tabuk City Councilor No. 1, Atty. Errol Comafay Jr., recently attended an Anti-Corruption Forum on March 21, 2026, where he shared his insights on politics and corruption and urged everyone, particularly the youth, to take an active role in shaping the country’s future.

According to Atty. Comafay, the forum was organized by the International Action for Transformation Philippines, a non-profit organization focused on community development and social change. The event gathered students from across Tabuk City, with the aim of empowering them to use their voices and votes in the fight against corruption.

The No. 1 councilor later took to social media to share about his talk, emphasizing that despite ongoing challenges, the nation still holds promise and highlighting the vital role of the youth in driving change.

He noted that the younger generation is now more aware of corruption issues, especially following recent controversies exposing irregularities in government. According to him, this awareness places responsibility on young voters to act decisively during elections.

“Our country is not hopeless. Every generation brings new hope.

Comafay further explained that candidates who distribute money during campaigns are likely to engage in corruption once elected, pointing out how vote-buying sustains a cycle of corruption in public office.

He also warned that voters who knowingly support corrupt candidates share responsibility, and urged the youth to use their votes for accountability and reform. The councilor concluded by encouraging young people to nurture their idealism and remain steadfast in their principles.

We should allow youthful idealism to flourish. Only the youth, with their idealism and passion, can challenge the corrupt status quo. Let us help the youth realize that they can use their votes to fight corruption.”
