Tanudan, Kalinga – The upgrading and improvement of the local access road in Banagao, Poblacion is now 90% complete, says Tanudan Municipal Engineer Mike Tongnawa.

Said road was given P7.5 million share from the P50 million development project loan of the Tanudan Municipal Local Government Unit from the Development Bank of the Philippines.

Tongnawa said the road is 242 meters long and 6.1 meters wide. The allocation covers the road’s sidewalks and retaining wall.

Meanwhile, the local government decided to continue the development of the access road to connect it to the national highway. The fund, according to Tongnawa, will come from the P5,098,634.91 savings of the P20 million funding that was initially allocated for the completion of the Banagao Multi-purpose building or the Tanudan Municipal Hall.

The Municipal Engineer added that the P5 million savings will cover the concreting of around 100 meters road including its sidewalks and retaining wall.

“Back-fill-an mi pay diay ta medyo nag-sag diay pagnaan na, ken napitak, tapos agaramid kami iti retaining wall ti baba na ken ngatu na kabite, ta isu manen iti ag-protect iti ground ti munisipyo,” Tongnawa explained.

Apart from the upgrading and improvement of the local access road in Banagao and the completion of the Tanudan Municipal Hall, a slice of the P50 million loan was allocated for the construction of the Legislative Multi-Purpose Building, construction of Multi-Purpose Drying Pavement, and the construction of Water Works System.
