PNP commits help locate missing Igorot PDEA Agent

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Philippine National Police committed to help in search for Igorot anti-narcotics agent, Merton Fesway, who has been missing for more than a month now.

Fesway, who is a native of Bontoc, Mountain Province and an agent assigned in Pampanga, was supposed to be meeting a confidential informant prior to his disappearance and alleged abduction.

PNP Chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar stated that he already instructed the Chief of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Police Major Bert Ferro to coordinate and plan with the PDEA who earlier formed a task force to look for Fesway.

“Magkasangga ang PNP at PDEA laban sa mga sindikato ng droga at anumang pag-atake laban sa kahit isang miyembro ng PDEA ay itinuturing na rin naming pag-atake sa PNP,” Eleazar underscored.

Meanwhile, Eleazar also urged anyone who has knowledge about the case of Fesway and his whereabouts to provide the needed information the authorities, “hindi tayo titigil hangga’t hindi natin siya nahahanap.”

Meantime, Senator Ronald Dela Rosa has recently filed a resolution for the appropriate senate committee to probe the case of Fesway in aid of legislation, stressing that there is a need to ensure the safety and security of the operatives in order for them to ‘pursue a forceful, intensive and unrelenting campaign against drug trafficking, and the use of illegal drugs’.
