PNP official from Tinglayan is Kalinga’s new police director

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Marking his third decade in government service, Police Colonel Gilbert Fati-ig returns to serve his home province, Kalinga, as the new police provincial director.

 

Fati-ig officially took over the command to lead the Kalinga Police Provincial Office in a ceremony held at Camp Captain Juan M Duyan on Wednesday, June 5.

 

In his 30 years as a police officer, the new top cop who was born in Tinglayan spent already spent some time of his career in Kalinga.

Among his designations include serving as the Kalinga Deputy Provincial Director for Operations (DPDO) in 2012, Company Commander of the Kalinga Police Mobile Force Company in 2013 and 2015, Assistant Provincial Director for Operations in 2013, Tabuk City Chief of Police in 2016, DPDO in 2018, and Deputy Provincial Director for Administrations in 2019.

 

When he spoke before the men and women of KPPO and the stakeholders on Wednesday, Fati-ig expressed that getting to spend his 30th year of public service in his home province is a dream come true. 

 

“Reaching this momentum of my being an yKalinga PNP officer is a dream come true. Yes, it is because of my love to serve my province the yKalinga way,” he expressed, expounding that his leadership will be anchored on the Kalinga chore values – Ngilin, Paniyaw, and Bain – without discriminations to the diverse cultures in the province.  

 

As he begins his work as the Kalinga Police Provincial Director, Fati-ig emphasized that KPPO is committed to serving and protecting the Kalinga and its people. He then appealed for the public’s continuous cooperation and support to the law enforces, saying that the police are their partners in achieving a progressive Kalinga.
