PNP, PDEA razed 4 Marijuana plantations

Tinglayan, Kalinga – Four Marijuana plantation sites were destroyed in a three-day search and destroy operation activity of the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Barangay Ngibat.


Kalinga Police Provincial Office (KPPO) reports that based on Dangerous Drugs Board value, a total of P8,648,000 marijuana plants found in some 4,300 square meter land area were razed to the ground during the operation held from April 12 t o14.


Through ‘Oplan Butterly’, around 5,000 marijuana plants were discovered from the first plantation site. While in a nearby area, some 400 grams of dried marijuana leaves amounting to P48,000 were also found.



As operatives continue to search, a second plantation site with 10,000 fully grown marijuana plants was also found. The 3rd site was found growing around 8,000 marijuana plants while around 20,000 plants was discovered at the 4th site.


KPPO Director PCol. Davy Vicente Limmong said that intensified activities to clear illegal drugs in all barangays is now being undertaken.



“The intensification of activities to clear all barangays of illegal drugs is underway, and rest assured for the public that our law enforcers and anti-narcotics operatives, in coordination with the Municipal and Barangay Officials, will do their respective duties and functions to further enhance the anti-illegal drug campaign,” he stated in a press release.


Meantime, around P21.9 million worth of the same illegal plants were destroyed during a 5-day operation in the provinces of Kalinga and Benguet from April 6 to 10, 2021.
