Iguig, Cagayan — Police have identified persons of interest in connection with a series of vehicle stoning incidents that damaged at least five vehicles along Barangay Atulu, Iguig, on June 13, 2026.

According to a Facebook post by the Cagayan Provincial Information Office (PIO), one of the victims, CJR Bilas, recounted that the incident occurred while they were traveling back to Tuguegarao City from a wake when a rock suddenly struck their vehicle's windshield. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Bilas added that they immediately made a U-turn to check the area and discovered that a Florida bus traveling ahead of them had already been hit by multiple rocks.

Authorities said several other vehicles were also affected, including a delivery truck, a pickup truck, a green van, and the Florida bus.

In a statement, the Iguig Municipal Police Station (MPS) said that initial findings from the investigation have led to the identification of individuals who may have been involved in the incidents.

Police added that they are currently coordinating with barangay officials and the victims to gather additional information and evidence to expedite the resolution of the case.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances behind the attacks and hold those responsible accountable.
