Project “Butsy” brings free health care service to Apayao municipalities


Luna, Apayao - Municipalities in Apayao will be receiving free healthcare services from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) through the project “Butsy” (Bringing Universal healthcare services Towards a Sustainable program implementation yielding to a resilient Apayao).


Led by the provincial government, in partnership with other national line agencies, the project was first implemented in the municipality of Luna on Monday, August 07, followed by the municipality of Santa Marcela, this Tuesday, August 08, 2023.

Apart from comprehensive medical services, the program shall inform the beneficiaries about the concepts and benefits of Universal Health Care (UHC).


UHC is a healthcare system that ensures people's access to the healthcare they need without suffering financial hardship.


Target participants include municipal officials, employees, civil society organizations (CSO), non-government organizations (NGOs), and members of religious sectors. Beneficiaries will avail free medical and dental services.


The activity is planned to be held next in the Municipality of Flora on August 09, Pudtol on August 10, Kabugao on August 14, Conner on August 15, and Calanasan on August 16, respectively.


Meanwhile, PHO-Apayao also led a bloodletting activity last week, August 02-03, in which a total of 33 employees participated in the event.


Said activity aimed at supporting the health needs of the communities in the province ensures that blood supply in the blood bank is enough for yApayaos in case of emergencies.
