Tinglayan, Kalinga – The proposed relocation site of the anti-Chico river dam struggle heroes’ monuments in Bugnay provides picturesque view that will surely relax the mind of the people, having potential to become a view deck or a recreational area, says project designer.

Architect Sheldon Calsiyao said that the relocation site of Macliing Dulag, Lumbaya Gayudan and Pedro Dungoc’s monuments is on top of a mountain and was just opposite the original site.

He said the built area is approximately 210 square meters and that even the space is limited, it is actually feasible for view deck or recreational area.

“Actually feasible siya as view deck or recreational area though uray nu limited lang diyay space ket makitam ti panoramic view ti Bugnay village pati dyay river ijay baba na and consistent ti hangin na,” he said.

The site, he described, is surrounded with pine trees and other plants that provide fresh air, perfectly beautiful and ideal for the relocation of the monuments.

Moreover, Architect Calsiyao said that they proposed stairs in going up the mountain so that it would be more accessible and safer for the public. He said it took them five minutes before they were able to reach the area when they visited the site since it was a bit steep.

“Sobrang tarik dIyay sumang at mismo ijay top ti mountain nga proposed site, kelangam ag boots or any appropriate footwear tapnu makasang at,” he said.

Once the construction is done, the monuments of the anti-Chico river dam struggle heroes will welcome the people’s eyes upon arrival at the site.

“Pagdanun mu ijay ngato, makitam nga dagus jay monument. Pero nu agyan ka jay baba na paylang ket haan mu matan awan, ngem makikita along the road nu asideg kan ijay site kasi nu agyan ka jy mismo site ket makitkitam metlng jay national road,” he said.

Nevertheless, the project designer said, “after reaching the site ket makarelax ka metlang for sure iti kinapintas ti view ken angin na.”

The date of construction is yet to be set.
